The Philippine delegation at the Tourism Expo Japan 2025
AICHI, JAPAN—The Philippines showcased its breathtaking destinations at this year’s Tourism Expo Japan (TEJ), held from 25 to 28 September 2025 at the Aichi Sky Expo. The four-day event comprised trade and business days as well as consumer activities, giving tourism stakeholders from the country a platform to secure as much as PHP 349.9 million in sales leads.
The delegation, led by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines and in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), comprised representatives from airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, and government agencies. The delegates participated in business-to-business meetings during the trade and business sessions from 25 to 26 September. They also had the opportunity to connect with travelers who want to visit the Philippines during the consumer activities held from 27 to 28 September. The stakeholders also sponsored prizes for the raffle draw held for consumers visiting the booth, giving them a chance to win accommodations, tours, and flights to top destinations in the country.
To encourage more people to visit the country, the delegation’s booth featured attractions that align with the Japanese market’s interest in historical sites and natural wonders, like Intramuros, Boracay, Chocolate Hills, and Moalboal. The booth also came to life through the Philippine Travel Talk Show, featuring Japanese content creators Bonnie the Star and Miyuu, who introduced Filipino cuisine and discussed their experiences in the Philippines to the audience. On top of that, regular performances from the LUMAD group were held at the booth to give visitors a glimpse into the cultural expressions of local communities.

“The successful results from this year’s TEJ serve as solid proof of the Japanese market’s strong interest in visiting our country,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles. “Our participation in TEJ gave the market an avenue to fully immerse themselves in our unique culture and to experience the genuine warmth of the Filipino people, encouraging them to visit and love the Philippines more.”
TEJ 2025 is organized by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association (JTTA), the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). This event gathered exhibitors from across the globe and welcomed over 127,000 trade professionals and visitors. The Philippines joined more than 82 participating countries and regions, further cementing its presence in Japan’s largest travel marketplace.
The country’s PHP 350 million worth of sales leads this year reflects both steady growth and an evolving approach to tourism promotion where inclusivity and meaningful partnerships are at the core of its international engagements.
