BEIJING, CHINA—The Philippines, through the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, will participate in the upcoming Diving, Resort, and Travel (DRT) Show Beijing, to be held on August 8 to 10, 2025, at the China National Convention Center. With support from the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Philippine delegation will spotlight the country’s leading dive destinations and tourism products in a strategic push to revitalize ties with the Chinese travel market.
In the first half of the year (as of July 2025), China’s visitor arrivals came up to 134,374. Against this backdrop, the Philippines is ramping up its promotional efforts to rebuild interest and confidence among Chinese travelers, particularly through the country’s globally recognized dive offerings.
The Philippine delegation will include sixteen tourism companies comprising dive resorts, dive centers, tour operators, and airline partners. The contingent includes Cebu Pacific, Coron Mantapro Diving Center, Department of Tourism Bicol, Earth Explorers Travel and Tours, Garden of Eden Dive Resort, H Resort Bohol-The Coral Cliff, Philippine Airlines, Pier Uno Dive Resort, Romblon Beach Resort, Scandi Divers Resort, Sea Explorers Philippines, Sierra Madre Divers Dive Center, SLAM’s Garden Dive Resort-Ocean Passion, Sunshine Anilao Dive and Beach Resort, Ticao Island Resort, and Tropicasa Inc. Their presence underscores the Philippines’ strong commitment to promoting world-class diving experiences that range from marine sanctuaries of Bohol and Romblon to the renowned dive sites of Coron and Anilao.
“The DRT Show in Beijing is a strategic opportunity to promote the Philippines to the international diving community,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, “We look forward to reconnecting with our Chinese partners and building even more partnerships to encourage more visitors to explore the Philippines. Our participation will serve as a clear commitment to deepening cultural ties with China while strengthening the Philippines’ position as one of Asia’s premier diving destinations.”
A key component of the country’s participation is the Philippine Dive Night, a business-to-business networking event scheduled on August 8. The event will be attended by high-level officials including Philippine Ambassador to China H.E. Jaime A. FlorCruz and Tourism Attaché Rene Reyes of the DOT-Beijing Office. The highlight of the evening will be the round-table presentations, allowing Philippine sellers to engage directly with Chinese buyers in a series of timed meetings.
Beyond trade engagement, the country booth will offer a range of activities aimed at increasing foot traffic and consumer interaction. These include a market survey paired with a prize wheel draw, seller-led trivia games, incentives for confirmed bookings, a stamp rally that will promote interaction across all Philippine sellers, and daily raffle draws featuring merchandise and giveaways from TPB and its delegation.
With renewed momentum and clear intent, the Philippines’ participation at DRT Show Beijing 2025 seeks to build on past successes while opening new opportunities for collaboration. By combining immersive booth experiences with direct trade engagement, the country aims to reestablish itself as a premier dive destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
